Books DO Make an Author’s Dreams Come True!
We often find ourselves encouraging children to ‘follow their dreams,’ to make their wishes on birthday candles or on shooting stars, and to ‘dream big.’ Each of these optimistic ideas suggests that outcomes are shaped by a positive ‘can-do’ mindset. However, none of them mention anything specific about the timing of success. Success is shaped by motivation and attitude, AND it is also very much worth the wait!
I spent a great deal of time in the hospital during childhood and had future aspirations of helping children in the healthcare field. Life circumstances had another path in mind and put those passions on hold, but they’ve resurfaced in book form! Doors are opening to allow me to put my stories into the hands of young patients….
The first donation of book bundles and Huggable Heroes to a children’s hospital was made on Saturday, June 28th at the Eyes Ears Nose and Paws Client Dog Team Graduation! A ‘bucket list milestone moment’ for sure!
Physical therapist, Christina Hall, (and newly appointed Facility Dog, Atlas), accepted the donation on behalf of Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Our hope is that this is the first of many such connections to positively impact the lives of children and families!❤️🩹🌈
From its earliest days, the longterm emphasis of the ‘comfort and care’ mission of The Bedtime Brigade has remained making its stories accessible to young patients receiving treatment in children’s hospitals across the miles.
Here’s to many more SWEET DREAMS to come!!!😴💤🛌💫❤️🩹🚑🏥
